  • General Psychological Assessments / Capacity Assessments

    This type of assessment involves considering relevant histroicl and contextual factors in order to guide interventions. The assessment supports people in determining what their treatment goals might be, recommendations regarding possible programs an individual might qualify for (e.g. Persons with Developmental Disability, Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped), and the best methods for effecting change so that an individual might engage more effectively with family, peers and others in his or her social environment.

  • Risk Assessments

    This assessment can be used to understand risk for future sexual offending, violence, or intimate partner violence. This type of assessment is designed to identify both the static (unchanging) and dynamic (changeable) risk factors that contribute to the likelihood that an individual will commit another act of violence or sexual abuse. A formal report is prepared and recommendations regarding risk management are included.

  • Parenting Assessments

    This type of assessment is usually requested to support third parties in decision making. This assessment provides an evidenced-based assessment that support the safety of children in need of protection, offers guidance regarding a parent’s strengths and vulnerabilities, and where possible, supports the reunification of families. Amanda works with Alberta Children’s Services and community agencies engaged in Collaborative Service Delivery

  • Practice Note & Parent Psychological Evaluations

    This is a Court ordered assessments of one parent designed to assess risk factors present that a parent might not adequately meet the needs of a child and what supports might be needed to improve that parent’s ability to meet their child’s needs. (We do not do Voice of the Child assessment reports).
