I believe in the innate resilience of each person.  I aim to make the counselling relationship a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and accepted—a space where it is okay to be try new things, to gently step out of your comfort zone and where your own resilience can emerge.

My approach to counselling is informed by both Eastern and Western psychological traditions.  As such, I am ever-fascinated by the interplay between body and mind and how healing in one often leads to healing in the other. I am also drawn to narrative therapy, with the belief that there are many different ways of telling our life stories and that healing happens when we tell our stories from a place of empowerment and growth.

Cross-cultural work has been a theme throughout my career.  For the past 25 years, I have been living and working alongside those with different cultural backgrounds and perspectives from my own.  I am constantly engaged in the exploration of the ways that psychology can contribute to greater equity, diversity, and inclusion in society.  I welcome clients of all cultural identities—including, but not limited to, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients.

I offer experience counselling teens and adults, couples and families of many kinds (including families who practice polyamory and other forms of consensual non-monogamy).  I am comfortable with issues such as trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, healthy eating and weight loss, parenting (including parenting children with special needs), relationships, queer issues, and establishing healthy behaviours and routines.

I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you towards whatever positive change you are seeking…
